ANDREJ MANGOLD SIGNED A DEAL UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON WITH THE FRAPORT SKYLINERS
Andrej is back in the easyCredit Basketball Bundesliga. We’re very proud that we’ve been able to support the experienced Combo Guard during the process for this important step. After being gone for more than one year it’s just great that „Dre“ got the opportunity to showcase his game on the biggest basketball stage in Germany again.
Shortly before the end of the transfer period we were able to seal the deal with the Fraport Skyliners. A big thanks goes out to Gunnar Wöbke, the general manager and sports director of the Skyliners, who held the contract negotiations very uncomplicated and also had the understanding for Andrej’s existing schedule in function as this year’s Bachelor.
For the Hannover native it’s now most important to build a connection with his new team and get into game shape as quick as possible. Of course nobody expects the 32-year-old to help the Skyliners immediately even tho Coach Herbert currently has to manage a long list of injured players and would like to use Andrej right away. But first Dre needs to find his rhythm in the next 1 to 2 weeks. Everybody who knows „The Bachelor“ closer has zero doubts that he’ll be ready soon.
Statement by Andrej Mangold: „I am very happy to be back in the Bundesliga and also for such a good program as here in Frankfurt. I have often played against Frankfurt in my career and have always admired how Coach Herbert and his team help players make it to the next level. In addition to that Frankfurt is known for bringing players back to top level after longer injury breaks. That speaks for the coaching team and the good infrastructure that is available in Frankfurt! This deal makes a dream come true. From professional athlete to being „The Bachelor“ and back again. I am very grateful for the trust which the FRAPORT SKYLINERS put in me and I’ll do my best to integrate myself as quickly as possible to be able to help the team in the remaining games. I would like to thank my sports management ATHLEADZ in person of Head of Sports Robert Cardenas Ruda and my business partner Timo Kazmierczak for the quick realization of this deal. Of course my basketball skills coach Paul Gudde and my personal trainer Eugen Bantschikow of Athleague deserve a big thank you as well for helping me bigtime in the last weeks to bring myself back to a decent level basketball and fitness wise. „
